April Fools

Only fools say in their hearts,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt, and their actions are evil;
not one of them does good!
Psalm 14:1

I think the main reason the world is so full of immorality and destruction is because people want to take God’s place. They want to replace God’s commands with their own opinions and ideas. They want to usurp the throne of God in their own lives. But this life comes to an end eventually, and one day every knee will bow and all people will be forced to accept the truth that Jesus Christ is Lord.

When people look at you, what do they see? How about when you’re under pressure? What shows through then? Does the world know you as a person of character and morality in all situations? Or when push comes to shove do you compromise your character for expediency?
The reason Daniel is so famous is because no matter what, he stood for God. Even when the whole world turned against him, he was tried and true.
If you want to be remembered for anything positive, Daniel is a good role model to live up to.

What Child is this who, laid to rest
On Mary’s lap is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing;
Haste, haste, to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

Have you ever felt like you were at the end of your rope? You didn’t know where to turn or what to do? You felt trapped and powerless? It’s a state that many have been in. And people have made many attempts at escape from it. But the only real release–the only real freedom is found in Jesus. He is the only one who can open the door to true peace and fulfillment.

The Christmas season can be a time of emotional stress and depression and definitely a drain on finances and energy. But that’s all due to people missing the reason for Christmas. The world has secularized the holiday, so it is nothing more than a time of shopping and overindulgence and making up stories about where kids’ presents come from. But for those who actually celebrate the birth of the risen Savior because He has filled their hearts with peace and their lives with love, Christmas is a joy rather than a drain.

It’s amazing how much history tends to repeat itself. Of course the main reason seems to be that people don’t care much about history, which makes it pretty difficult to learn from past mistakes. So if you want to know the future, one pretty simple way is to take a look at the past.
